Ablett Unit, Glan Clwyd Hospital
This project was completed for Conwy & Denbighshire NHS Trust in May 2008.
The work undertaken involved improving the appearance of the internal and external environment for both patients and staff, and to make maintenance of the external and internal courtyards simpler.
The main aspects of the work were landscaping of existing garden areas and courtyards, external DDA works, provision of new entrance door screens, installation of opening rooflights to corridor areas, modifications to the kitchen area to improve space and re-decoration and re-flooring of selected areas.
Because the Unit was occupied throughout the work period, the work had to be carried out in several phases which posed many technical and logistical problems for site management which were successfully overcome.
The contract was completed in just 15 weeks and had a contract value of £280,000.
