This contract was completed for Conwy & Denbighshire NHS Trust in November 2008.
The work comprised the construction of a first floor extension together with adaptations to the Heulwen Day Unit within the Cancer Treatment Centre.
The works were carried out in a very inaccessible part of the existing Cancer Treatment Centre which involved having to use a Tower Crane for certain critical stages of the construction ( structural steel frame, cladding and floor screeding ).
The extension comprised of a structural steel frame with external wall and roof cladding. Aluminium double glazed windows were fitted together with suspended ceilings and floor finishes. New decorations were applied throughout including a hospital fit-out in the new extension.
Mechanical and electrical installations were particularly complex as they had to be linked into the existing hospital systems.
This was a very challenging project and was completed in 16 weeks with a contract value of £228,000.
