St Richard Gwyn High School, Flint
This project was completed for Flintshire County Council in December 2008.
The contract was for the remodelling of the Food Technology Room which had to be undertaken in a relatively short contract period of 12 weeks.
The remodelling consisted of the removal of a principal loadbearing wall between two classrooms and insertion of a double '' goal post '' structure of steel beams and columns bearing on pad foundations, to support the first floor slab, including temporary shoring.
The existing hardwood single-glazed windows were replaced with new aluminium double-glazed units, and the two rooms completely refitted to include new floor finish, suspended ceilings, new fitted furniture for food technology, a commercial catering area and computer benching.
Existing mechanical and electrical services were adapted to suit the remodelling.
The contract value was £170,000.
